Bangla Sahib Gurdwara
This is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwaras (houses of worship), in India.
Perhaps the world's least known major religion, the principles of Sikhism are reflected in the Langar - a large industrial kitchen area wherein food is served to visitors, irrespective of background or religion. Run by volunteers and paid for through tithes, the kitchen serves 25,000 - 45,000 people every day.
Sikhs initiated into the Khalsa are recognisable by the physical symbols they wear, including uncut hair (Kesh), a steel bracelet (Kara), wooden comb (Kanga), Kaccha (cotton undergarments), and, most noticeably, a steel sword or dagger (Kirpan).
